Very true and great job at making people aware.

That is hilarious! I buy lulu stuff (the products are long lived and excellent for that I want - yoga and sport climbing) but I really wish they would stop giving me bullshit life advice and pretending that they are my new bestie. They are selling me a singlet. I am ok with that.

Chick Wearing Lulu Mon, 27 Feb 2012 04:22 pm EST

I thought the satire lulu bag was hilarious. That said, I buy a lot of lululemon and wear it all the time. I do not buy my clothes for other people to admire, i buy them for me. I do not pay for a trendy logo or label, I pay for quality. I travel constantly to countries where no one knows nor cares what the logo is.
The fact is, these are quality, well designed clothes. I can speak only for myself but I have had lululemon garments for literally years -- garments I have run hundreds of miles in, have sweated buckets in, have climbed mountains in, garments that have been washed and dried and worn hundreds of times and they STILL look as good as the day I bought them, they are comfortable and they are attractive and well designed. Not one ripped seam or threadbare spot on them. This is what I pay for.
When in London I was literally stopped during a run by more than one woman asking where I got my running skirts and tops. Yeah, they're cute and you can run a marathon in them.
So people who own the company are — gasp! — making money off a high-quality product that they charge money for! How dare they!
I am not happy about the foreign-labor situation either. As a serious runner I am not sure if any high-performance gear is not made with foreign labor ... anyone?
I do know that I have bought other high-performance workout clothing and lululemon has outlasted most if not all of them, and is attractive enough to wear in non-workout situations. lululemon garments are great for travel and hey pack-and-go beautifully. Logo aside, earthy crunchy marketing tactics aside, it is simply a high performance athletic wear line whose quality justifies the price tag.

Yogi Mon, 20 Feb 2012 06:36 pm EST

Lululemon is not a Yoga company. Their clothes work well for some Yoga, but do you really think a Yogi created it? I once applied there (as a dedicated Yogi, Yoga teacher, with lots of retail experience)...I wasn't hired because I don't have interest in business. Hmm...what does that say about their priorities?
I still have/buy Lulu because there's not much in the way of men's Yoga clothing...but I will keep looking until the day I die to get away for Lulu!

Cyn Tue, 24 Jan 2012 03:57 pm EST

" ... came up with "Lululemon" because he delighted in the idea that trying to pronounce the name -- with its three syllables beginning with "l'" -- would pose a special challenge for the Japanese, whom he enjoyed making fun of." yeah, that's a company that's full of happy, positive energy ....
PS I own enough Lulu to open up my own store. I just can't get past the crap that comes out of the former CEO (still chairman's) mouth

This is so funny, and so true! I would like to add one.
Original manifesto : Friends are more important than money.
Lululemons real manifesto: Money is more important than customers.

Never heard of Lululemon until a few minutes ago and found this chart. I clicked on the article about the seaweed pants. Now I know that making fabric out of bamboo is no better for the planet than making it from cotton or any other organic material.
This is no more than another commie trying to rum down Capitalism by attacking a company that creates jobs for people, But i also found that Treehugger.com was promoting SeaCell back in 2005. Are going to attack them now?

I love lulu-wear. It' simply positive energy. If something motivates then it is worth $98 for the good energy it distributes. Money is simply a form of energy and it is traded. We give energy to get it then trade for something that replenishes our supply so we can do it all over again. In the end is a person happy and healthy and do they spread that to others. I am happy that someone designed happy clothing named Lululemon and has their creative abilities renewed by positive leaders giving them a yoga class. Every business should model this giving spirit.... Thank you Lululemon!!!!

People....Wake Up and look at your labels. Made in China with sweat labor....Nuff Said....!!!!!!....Love the poster and want a shirt...!!!!!

Definitely one of the funniest proly the most truthful (not 100%) thing i seen on the net in a while! Its even funnier to see people try to defend lululemon. Buying other brands for high prices is different. You buy european brands to make a statement saying I like to look good. Lululemon doesn't even look good on girls. If anything they all look like hobos who like to spend unnecessary money on shit you can buy at walmart for the same quality.

t Fri, 9 Dec 2011 12:39 am EST

people dont have to buy lululemon, so i dont see why its a big deal. its no different than guess or any other big brand names. they arent brain washing people..they are marketing. and i for one love their clothes, it is top quality and lasts for along time

What is the attraction? The specialty outdoor industry has been making far superior products in this area for 25 years -- Patagonia, North Face, Smart wool, Marmot, etc. Beautiful, high performance fabrics and fit! Beats Lulu across the board! Visit your local specialty outdoor store and see for yourself.

In the name of pure capitalism, "Who is John Galt?" that is the new montra on thier shopping bags. Supply the demand, create the demand, this isn't about yoga, this is about a free enterprise system. In the words of Eddie Murphy, "Spandex! All Spandex!"

Katie Thu, 17 Nov 2011 01:53 pm EST

I bought my first (and only) pair of lululemons last year. Within a week, the soft fabric has become bumpy everywhere. I went back to return them, and the manager said "Oh, well, I can't sell those now. Sorry."

meg Sat, 12 Nov 2011 11:04 pm EST

hey v- do your research. lulu has many organic cotton products and Eco friendly business practices! I know bc I work there :). all factory employees receive fair wages and are up to code and standard. they all get free yoga too! it's wonderful! read about it at lululemon.com. after all it is our vision to elevate the world from mediocrity to greatness. we stand for all of our people. from the CEO down to the warehouse workers.

Petra Westen Sat, 29 Oct 2011 11:19 pm EST

Love it! - I refuse to buy this overpriced brand.

Cherie Thu, 1 Sep 2011 11:17 am EST

I can not afford LULU stuff currently but I understand what it means to see these sayings on a daily basis...It teaches you to better yourself and your surroundings! It is a reminder and I love the fact that LULU encourages their employees to emark on a journey as such with programs such as landmark education that has changed many lives!! All of which many people that in the previous messages probably have no idea what it is about. This company is absolutly fantastic with all that it promotes and if I could afford it I would most definitely not be ashamed to stand behind and show my appreciation for what it provides and in the end it comes down to HOW TO LOVE!! Recognize this and live powerfully!!

Sun, 3 Jul 2011 01:44 pm EST

Thank you this is wonderful.

kitti Tue, 31 May 2011 11:42 pm EST

THEIR STUFF- IS GREAT. i dont know why it cost a ton. maybe the rent on the store...or the cost to have ppl make it.. im guessing it is not ppl in CHINA-- but the thing i hate.. is how-- i didnt realize. their LOGO was everywhere.. and they tricked me with their awesome BAG they give you. i use it to BAG my GROCERIES- YEAh.. but then i realized. i was totally ADVERTISting FOR ThEm. while i think its brilliant, business wise, i felt likea dope.. wearing their stuff for all to see-- i dont wear it to say i am RICH A CAN AFFORD -LULU-- i wear it cuz i truely like it. i like that the black pants stay black. and you dont see my crotch thru it after 3 months. i like the way the tops fit, they are cut well. ilike the material-- i dont care to pusht eh product tho.. why??? i dont work for them---and sooooooooooooo I MARKED OUT ALL THEIR LOGOS on my stuff (yes iw ill still buy it, i like the product,a nd i can afford.) and I TURNED ALL THE BAGS INSIDE OUT .. so im not pushing their LOGO//and NAME..they can do that on thier own. with what they charge-- $$$ they can advertise.. themselves

V Sun, 6 Mar 2011 09:30 pm EST

It seems like people will take any excuse to spend money on needless things to pump up their feeling of entitlement and self worth, but these pants won't do it! And the advertisement only feeds on these insecurities. When did yoga become a fashion statement and not moving meditation? Finally, it's pretty sad that lulu can't produce organic or free trade anything for the prices they charge. Come on.

Joyce Sat, 5 Mar 2011 08:06 pm EST

I love this! Not because I hate Lululemon or their products, but because I can't stand the stupid, mindless sayings on these types of bags. I can't understand how anyone could carry around a bag that says "Friends are more important than money", as if this statement is something they actually feel other people might not know, but might learn from seeing their bag. My favourite line above is "LIve in the moment. Live in the moment. Live in the moment. Maybe if we repeat this enough, this will somehow become useable advice." Absolutely right on. Anyone who believes in this self-help garbage is a complete moron.

Mich Fri, 4 Mar 2011 04:32 pm EST

It's bad enough when companies imply this stuff and you're still doped into buying their gear. But if you buy it when it's said out loud like this, you are more of an idiot than you realized.

Lulu4Life Fri, 4 Mar 2011 02:27 pm EST

The women who hate Lululemon only hate it because they haven't tried on and worn their sexy yoga pants. These women simply don't understand how incredibly sexy these pants make you feel. You feel great just wearing them because you know you look good! And you can't look good wearing skin-tight Lulu pants unless you work out constantly and watch what you eat. The bottom line is: Women will pay anything for something that makes them look and feel sexy and motivates them to stay that way. That's capitalism for you. To all the lulu haters, stop hating and just buy their stock (ticker symbol LULU in the US and LLL in Canada). The stock seems to double every 9 months or so and you can profit from it. Hell you could even use those profits to buy more Lulu yoga pants!

Love, Lulu

Gibs Thu, 24 Feb 2011 09:33 pm EST

HAHA! Amazing "4000 years of yoga and we finally figured out how to cash in" lulu is laughing all the way to the bank!

meg Thu, 24 Feb 2011 06:43 pm EST

you wish you were smart enough to own such an amazing company. probably why the owner is a billinaire and your sitting on your couch in their clothes making up complete ridiculous bullshit:)

Jo Thu, 24 Feb 2011 07:48 am EST

Great piece, but seriously who did not already know this.
I only buy based on quality of the product and it's good stuff. Not the only stuff so if the marketing bothers you buy else where.

Peggy Tue, 22 Feb 2011 05:46 pm EST

It is being framed. It will be hung in our yoga studio, where we have NO STORE (because of companies like this).

Micha Tue, 22 Feb 2011 02:04 pm EST

STANDING OVATION! There's absolutely nothing zen nor self-affirming about this company. People who are willing to pay the high price to belong should not be practicing yoga. By the way, the next time you charge your credit card $98 for a pair of "lululemon butt" know that you are giving free yoga class to the guys/girls who talked you into buying those pants.

Nicole Tue, 22 Feb 2011 01:32 pm EST

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS! I need it somewhere...tote, t-shirt...love it! =)

Amanda Tue, 22 Feb 2011 01:01 pm EST

Brilliant spoof. Would you be amenable to an interview with The Elephant Journal about the creation and intention of this spoof? It has created quite the controversy. I promise deep respect and integrity. This parody has brought enormous joy to me!
